'Evacuation – Invacuation – Lockdown' Seminar and Workshop

West Yorkshire Safer Schools Forum would like to bring three training dates to your attention.

We would like to invite your Headteacher or Deputy/Assistant Head or Business Manager to attend a training event which has been arranged following the publication of Government guidance issued in January 2016.  This seminar and workshop has been designed to give guidance to schools in managing a potentially violent or dangerous situation in or around the school premises.

These free events will be held on:

  • Friday 1st December 2017
  • Wednesday 31st January 2018
  • Tuesday 20th March 2018

The events will be held between 09:00hrs and 13:00hrs at West Yorkshire Fire & Rescue Headquarters Training Centre, Bradford Road, Birkenshaw, BD11 2DY.

The session will will include:-

  • Presentations covering:-
    • Invacuation (including Lockdown)
    • Evacuation for reasons other than Fire (including silent evacuation)
    • School Site Security
  • Workshop scenarios which may require invacuation/lockdown and/or evacuation
  • Q & A session

The above seminar and workshop has been developed in collaboration with the following parties – Bradford Council, Calderdale Council, Kirklees Council, Leeds City Council, Wakefield Council, West Yorkshire Fire and Rescue Service, North East CTU and West Yorkshire Police.

Please note the courses fill up quickly and are limited to one attendee per school. Please do not apply for a place if someone from your school has attended a previous session.

Please send a ‘replacement‘ if you are unable to attend or give Adam as much notice as possible so alternative candidates can be found.

We hope to accomodate as many people as possible and further dates may be available in the Summer Term.
