Struggling to raise the issue of unhealthy lifestyle habits with parents? Worrying about growing numbers of overweight or unhealthy children in your school? Unsure what to do? Attend our free HENRY training in Bradford.

We have spaces available on our two-day HENRY practitioner training aimed at practitioners working with families aged 0-5 years.

DATE: 7 and 8 November 2017 9am - 4:30pm - Central Bradford

Our free, evidence-based, RSPH approved training helps practitioners to:

  • Be able to raise the issue of healthy weight and lifestyle with families sensitively and effectively

  • Understand the emotional dimension of change, the links between behaviour, feelings and needs and the power of empathy as a catalyst for change

  • Adopt a partnership approach to work with families, using a strength-based and solution-focused approach to explore family lifestyle issues and support lifestyle behaviour change

  • Gain the knowledge, skills and confidence to provide effective support and information in relation to the 5 elements of a healthy start in life: parenting skills, eating and lifestyle habits, nutrition, physical activity and emotional well-being in the family

  • Be able to provide clear messaging around healthy nutrition and physical activity for babies and young children consistent with national guidance

  • You do not need to deliver a group programme as a result of attending this training - training is for personal development only.
