RQT Professional Learning in the Teaching and Assessment of Writing in KS1 and in KS2
This is an exciting opportunity to develop RQT teachers’ understanding of writing under the new assessment framework. Using the process of joint practice development, teachers will work together to review a high quality portfolio of annotated writing, exemplifying
age related expectations from either or both of Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2.
These two, one day courses would usually cost £100 each but they are being fully subsidised and so are both provided at zero cost to participants.
You will also be given (pre-funded) a substantial folder of exemplars of children’s writing for your year group. This was put together by teachers from Bradford primary schools, who were involved in the writing project in 2016-17
Led by Bradford Birth to 19 TSA, Specialist Leaders of Education and supported by Alison Philipson, we will take a close look at the curriculum, discussing the criteria and reviewing or creating examples in writing – so that teachers have a full understanding
of what age related expectations look like for the key stage. The session will also include guidance on how to plan a unit of work, including developing a working wall.
The session will be led by BB to19 TSA Specialist Leaders of Education from the Bradford District and supported by Alison Philipson.
