Go Green Tree Schools Award! Free help and support to schools from the Wood

Woodland Trust can offer free specialist advice, support and encouragement to schools to get out with pupils to visit woods, plant trees and teach them about the importance of nature.

Do you love trees? Do you want your pupils to love trees? The Woodland Trust has created The Green Tree Schools Award to encourage outdoor learning and 1000 schools across the region are being given a unique chance to nurture and inspire a new generation of nature lovers, with the help of Woodland Learning Officer Mel Frances

The award allows schools to gain points for completing exciting and educational activities such as tree planting, photography, art and recycling and progress through bronze, silver and gold levels to the prestigious platinum award.

Any school can sign up and you can email Mel to see if your school is eligible for extra support and additional free resources, such as wildlife identification guides and a curriculum based resource pack.

If you are interested in the Green Tree School Award you can email: MelFrances@woodlandtrust.org.uk or register and we’ll be in touch.

Information on the Green Tree School Award can be found on the Woodland Trust website at http://www.woodlandtrust.org.uk/get-involved/schools/green-tree-school-award/
