A unique series of events for Bradford's school leaders and teachers from July 2017.

Non-accidental injuries and FGM
Tuesday 11 July, 15:30-17:00, Canterbury Nursery School

An opportunity to enhance safeguarding knowledge in the areas of non-accidental injury and FGM. The course will be presented by two London-based doctors from GP and Paediatric specialties - Dr Sophie Halstead and Dr Tom Bracewell. The teaching will include explanations and implications around bruising, types of FGM, serious case reviews and opportunities to apply the learning and practice communication skills with role play.


Study visit 1: Broadford Primary School, Romford, East London  

This school won the TES Awards Primary School of the Year 2017 (pipping Horton Park Primary School to the post!). From Special Measures to Outstanding in a challenging community.

Thursday 5 October - travel after school from Leeds to Greenwich. Overnight stay at Travelodge Greenwich High Road.
Friday 6 October - study visit. Train travel from Greenwich to Gidea Park before visiting the school. Travel to Leeds from Gidea Park.
Approximate cost: £325pp

Study visit 2: Everton Nursery School and Family Centre, Liverpool 

This school won TES Awards EYFS Setting of the Year 2017.
Monday 20 November - return travel by train from Leeds to Liverpool and study visit.
Approximate cost: £125pp


Study visit 3: Bradford Central PRU  

This is a unique opportunity for school leaders to visit an “Outstanding” alternative provision based in inner-city Bradford.
