The Small Peicetrust organisation has secured some funding from GCHQ – the Government agency to create this opportunity.
There is suggestion that big organisations and specialist organisations like MI5 etc in the future will need many more cyber safety experts and nationally this is seen as being a bit of a gap in the way of young people coming up into the market place with
the skills, knowledge and abilities to undertake some of these types of roles.
Because of this potential skills gap nationally funding is being ploughed into running 25 Cyber First Courses across the UK, two of these are due to run in Bradford.
Places are limited to 50 young women each course, and the courses are due to run for 4 days (non residential) using the university as a base each day. Attendance at either of these courses does require booking but will be free of charge to attend so this
is really a very exciting opportunity for young women who may not have previously considered this as a future employment option.
