It is a statutory requirement that we collect this data and present this to the council.
We ask for this termly. This means that so far this year you should have submitted your autumn and spring data.
Your summer data is not due until the 14th July 2017.
Please log on to BSO. Then click on ‘utilities’ and then ‘termly attainment’. You will then see a list of your looked after children. If you feel this is incorrect, please let me know. You then need to select ‘manage termly data’ for each pupil. Please submit
all data and complete all drop down menus. You will need to scroll down to find the correct information (we cannot delete levels as we will lose previous data). The number relates to the year group and the letter relates to e=emerging, d=developing and s=secure.
For example 2e= year 2 emerging. For those in the early years please use the month ranges for the Autumn and Spring term. For the summer there will be the option to enter the profile scores.
Please use the descriptors as a best fit. We know that you may use different language in your school but we need to use a common language for all schools. Also do not forget to complete the ‘on track’ box. There is a yes or no option. On track means for
that pupil, not against end of year expectations. Please choose a year group which is most appropriate for your pupil e.g. year 5 emerging may be appropriate even if the pupil is in year 6.
Secondary colleagues, please use the descriptors which best fit your school.
Special school colleagues, please use the p scales at present.
Finally, a reminder to be thinking about your annual report to governors. We suggest that this is presented to governors in the autumn term as you will have all data at this point. An example of an annual report Is available on our pages on BSO.
As always, thank you for your on-going support of our young people. Please do not hesitate to contact me by email or on 01274 435860 if you have any questions.
