On 11th July 1995, 8372 Muslim men and boys were killed in Srebrenica – not in a terrorist attack but in a deliberate act of genocide against the Bosnian Muslim community.
We invite schools, youth groups & communities to participate by holding a football match or tournament on Wednesday 12th July to join thousands of others across the UK standing up to hatred and intolerance.
All participating groups will receive free resources including the Remembering Srebrenica book, stickers for all participants and a short explanatory speech to be read out before kick-off. We ask that a minute’s silence is held before the match to remember
the victim of hatred.
Bradford Council would like to encourage as many schools and community groups as possible to arrange and take part in the football challenge.
Organise a match against another school or community group in your area or perhaps an in school tournament - 5 a side, 7 a side or 11 a side.
Resources will be supplied by the charity Remembering Srebrenica.
