We will be doing maintenance to our website systems on Sunday, 31 January. Despite the ongoing situation with Covid-19 it is essential that we maintain the security of our systems. This will help us continue to deliver vital public health messages and information about council services via our website and allow you all to access our services using online forms. The work should be done with little disruption to you and any interruption should be short. If you do have problems accessing the site or something doesn’t work on Sunday, please try again later.
Ofsted, Education Funding Agency and the Chief Fire Officers Association (CFOA) have collectively produced and endorsed information on displays within schools.
There is a misconception around OFSTED's requirement for displays in school so a joint circular has been produced to dispel them. It can be viewed through the buildings section of BSO under the Fire Safety.
All schools must read and follow the guidance as displays such as those shown in the document not only endanger the lives of occupants in the event of a fire, but they are particularly hazardous for officers attending a fire who may have to enter the building in smokey conditions. Not only do they hinder officers but officers can get tangled in them due to low visibility and unfamiliarity of the space.
Please follow the guidance here
