Discover Bradford's Industrial Past at Moorside Mill

Experience a 1940's Washday, explore the district’s industrial woollen past and discover our Victorian classroom this term at Bradford Industrial Museum.

 Washday Memories (Key Stages 1 & 2) 
Get in role and join in with a washday in a typical Bradford back to back house.  Learn about how washday has changed in the past 70 years and use the dolly tub, wash boards, posser and the mangle to get your clothes sparkly clean! 

1.5 hour workshop at £95.

Warp and Weft: A Material Journey (Key Stages 1 & 2)

Follow the material journey from sheep to suit!  Pupils will explore the different stages of woollen fabric production using hands on activities and through viewing working mill machinery, pupils are introduced to a historically significant local industry. 

1.5 hour workshop at £95.

Victorian Classroom (Key Stage 2 only)
As local mill working children, pupils will experience lessons at Moorside Board School including copywriting with dip pens, using slates and singing songs.  Pupils also explore life in Victorian Bradford, the mill industry and local educational reform.

2 hour workshop at £120 or 1 hour version is available at £75.
