The Splendours of the Subcontinent exhibition tells the story of a journey taken by the Prince of Wales in 1875, through some of the finest Indian treasures from the Royal Collection that were presented to the Prince during his visit. In October 1875 he
set off on a four-month tour of the Indian Subcontinent, visiting over 21 areas, which today encompass India, Sri Lanka, Pakistan and Nepal.
This exhibition provides lots of exciting opportunities for young people to learn about the journey taken by the Prince, the history of the time and the fascinating craftsmanship and artistry demonstrated by these beautiful pieces.
