We will be doing maintenance to our website systems on Sunday, 31 January. Despite the ongoing situation with Covid-19 it is essential that we maintain the security of our systems. This will help us continue to deliver vital public health messages and information about council services via our website and allow you all to access our services using online forms. The work should be done with little disruption to you and any interruption should be short. If you do have problems accessing the site or something doesn’t work on Sunday, please try again later.
Anti-Bullying Week: an important way of focusing our attention is the latest children's service blog.
Last week was Anti Bullying Week. Bullying is a complex issue that has many dimensions and which can have a profound and long-lasting effect on people’s lives. We know that many young people and even adults encounter bullying at some stage in their lives.
Children’s Services hosted two events during the week to draw attention to some of the causes and effects of bullying on children and young people: the Public Forum for Education which focused on children’s mental health, and the Educating Against Hate Conference. I'd like to thank everyone who contibuted and attended these events.
