Author Jamila Gavin @ City Library

Children's author Jamila Gavin is visitng City Library for Children's Book Week as part of the Asian Literature Festival.

Due to a school cancellation a place for one class in either Year 4 or Year 3 (30 children) is available to see children's author Jamila Gavin at City Library on Monday 31 October 9.45am - 10.45am.  She will be telling stories from Tales of India.  If you are interested please email.  

Jamila is a fantastic and prolific children's author, her books include Granpa’s Indian Summer, The Magic Orange Tree, The Eye of the Horse and The Girl who Rode on a Lion to name but a few. Coram Boy won the Whitbread prize and is used widely in schools.  For more information on Jamila’s books visit www.jamilagavin.co.uk.  She will be introducing two of her books during her visit - Tales of India and Blackberry Blue.  Blackberry Blue is a collection of fairy stories with children from different ethnic groups as the main characters.
