Children’s Laureate Chris Riddell, author of Ottoline and the Yellow Cat and
Goth Girl and the Ghost of a Mouse is coming to Bradford Libraries.
Bradford Libraries are delighted to announce that the current Children's Laureate Chris Riddell will be visiting City Library on 30 November, as part of his Autumn Laureate tour. Chris is one of the best loved and most immediately recognisable illustrators.
His massively popular fantasy series with Paul Stewart, The Edge Chronicles helped to make Chris a household name. He has illustrated some of the biggest names in the children's book world including Michael Rosen, Neil Gaiman, Brian Patten and more.
He has written the bestselling Ottoline books and the Goth Girl series
with Goth Girl and the Ghost of a Mouse winning the Costa Children’s Book Award 2013. It is also an exciting year for Chris as he has become the first ever illustrator to win the prestigious Kate Greenaway medal three times - a testament to the
quality, imagination and innovation of his work.
During his visit, Chris will talk to Y5 and Y6 children, introducing his work and how he sets about writing and illustrating some of his zany and incredible stories. He will be drawing throughout the session and children will have the opportunity to ask
their own questions and have these answered by one of the biggest names in contemporary children's books.
