Invite to take part in the Bradford City Runs and raise money for charity

People are being invited to enter the Bradford City Runs and raise money for the Plastic Surgery and Burns Research Unit based at the University of Bradford.

The unit was set up after the tragic Bradford City fire disaster thirty one years ago and continues to explore ground-breaking treatment techniques for burns sufferers.

Bradford City Runs has a choice of three distances: 5K, 10K and Half Marathon and a special Kids' Run of about one mile, all starting and finishing in and around City Park on Sunday, October, 30.?

Hundreds of runners have already signed up and this year there's a new route through the city centre which takes in the University of Bradford, Bradford College, City Hall, City Park, the Broadway Shopping Centre and parts of Little Germany.

Those who've already put their names down include the Deputy Lord Mayor of Bradford, Coun Alun Griffiths, former Lord Mayor of Bradford, Coun Joanne Dodds and our Chief Executive, Kersten England.

The event is being supported by Bradford City, the Bradford Bulls and many other groups, running clubs and organisations from across the district.

You can enter either of the distances 5K, 10K, ½ Marathon as a team or an individual, you can also do it in fancy dress and raise money for this amazing Bradford cause.  Kids can also take part and be sponsored for the 1 mile kids' race.

All runners receive a medal and adult runners will get a t-shirt on finishing the race.

Visit www.bradfordcityruns.co.uk to sign up and follow @bradfordcityru1 on twitter or look for Bradford City Runs on Facebook.

The event is organised by Bradford Athletics Network in conjunction with the Council.
