If so, we are looking for at least ten mentors from across the Council to help.
Bradford District currently has 523 looked after children, in the Leaving Care Service. We would like to partner them with Council employees who can provide support and experience on a regular basis and fill one particular piece of independent work in with
the young person. Minimum visits with a young person would be three times, but can also be as many as you like.
You don't have to be a Manager to be a Mentor, just someone who can listen, advise, guide and sometimes just chat.
Additional checks to those that have been carried out to fulfil your current role may be necessary, but full mentoring training will be provided to those who would like to volunteer but have not mentored previously/recently.
Staff wishing to volunteer for this opportunity may do so through our volunteering policy which can be found
here.
If you would like to talk to someone in more detail before committing to becoming a mentor, please speak to Carly Turpin - Team Manager, 01274 437123.
Would managers please arrange for the
attached poster to be printed and displayed in schools and for those colleagues that do not have access to a council computer.
Anyone wishing to apply should contact
Carly Turpin by email or complete the form encompassed in the policy document linked above.
