This year’s event will launch on Friday 18 November. We are looking for opportunities for young people to take over jobs in a wide range of organisations at all levels from the shop floor to executive level. This is to provide a valuable opportunity for
young people to experience a working environment and potential, gain an understanding of decision making within different organisations across the district and generally broaden their knowledge and skill set. It benefits organisations and professionals as
young people can constructively question, challenge and give a different insight into how services are designed and delivered.
We are looking to support young people 13-19 years of age (up to 25 with disability) to gain skills, knowledge and inspiration so they can develop their understanding of how organisations are run and decisions are made. We want to give young people an opportunity
to experience leadership and decision making and for them to feel their opinions are valued, leading to improved confidence, self esteem and hopefully raising their aspirations for their own futures. Feedback from previous takeover days suggests that organisations
and professionals who have previously taken part have found it to be a valuable learning opportunity for them and their organisations.
We want to offer a great range of opportunities from across the Bradford District and we would very much welcome your participation in this. If you feel you can offer an opportunity for a young person, please seek your manager’s agreement and then make contact
with us. We will support in planning, debriefing and act as a contact point throughout the takeover challenge, and you will be invited to attend a feedback / celebration event at the end of the day.
