We will be doing maintenance to our website systems on Sunday, 31 January. Despite the ongoing situation with Covid-19 it is essential that we maintain the security of our systems. This will help us continue to deliver vital public health messages and information about council services via our website and allow you all to access our services using online forms. The work should be done with little disruption to you and any interruption should be short. If you do have problems accessing the site or something doesn’t work on Sunday, please try again later.
Supporting Children with Literacy Difficulties using a Multi-Sensory Approach. This course teaches HTLAs to deliver a bespoke Multi-Sensory Intervention to pupils with Dyslexia and Literacy Difficulties. If you already have a trained HTLA in your school, we are offering the course at half price.
The intervention draws on the principles of the Hickey Approach which is a well recognised and effective method of teaching pupils with Dyslexia to read and write. Attendees can take the course at level 2 or 3. They will attend the course at MMT Thursday mornings from the 13th October for 9 weeks. They will be required to work with a pupil and complete a portfolio.
On the 6th October, we will run an overview of the course for SENCOs. This will enable the SENCO to manage the intervention and support their HLTA.
