NECTU Regional Prevent Coordinator, Detective Superintendent Nik Adams, in collaboration with NHS partners and the Police and Crime Commissioner’s Office, are hosting a free one day Exploitation, Grooming and Radicalisation Conference on 12th October 2016 in Leeds

The conference will inform practitioners regarding:

•Grooming techniques which perpetrators use to groom vulnerable individuals for CSE.

•How the online space is used to exploit vulnerable individuals, whether for CSE or radicalisation.

•Recognition of vulnerabilities to grooming.

•How mental health can affect an individual's susceptibility to grooming.

•The multi-agency safeguarding approach utilised in dealing with cases involving radicalisation, demonstrating how the Channel process operates, to reinforce the importance of early reporting and intervention.

Speakers will include the Director of the Centre for the Analysis of Social Media, an Integrated Social Care Manager, representatives from the Crown Prosecution Service, a mental health practitioner and West Yorkshire Police.

I have included the booking link for the event.
