We're delighted to offer this CPD opportunity for class teachers on the 18th May, 13:00-15:30 at The Great Victoria Hotel, Bradford.

‘Young girl kills the first person she meets then teams up with three strangers to kill again’ is how one TV reviewer famously described the Wizard of Oz. For Hywel (@hywel_roberts), a teacher whose passion for teaching is matched by his passion for film, it is the more traditional take on the movie which describes what education should be about – courage, brains and heart. Hywel is working in both nationally and internationally with mainstream and special schools and at university level helping teachers design the sort of creative classroom experiences than make learning fun, relevant, active and real – for all learners. Drawing on his drama background and his work with the celebrated Mantle of the Expert approach, Hywel shares his innovative ideas with an infectious enthusiasm and humour, all of which are captured wonderfully in his highly popular book ‘Oops! Helping children learn accidentally’.

Session content: Adventures in Learning: Hywel will explore contextual learning, creative approaches, learning worth behaving for, questioning, and uncovering a curriculum for everyone.
