Remembering Srebrenica and Anne Frank exhibitions: Invitation for schools
Eternal Light School has been given the opportunity to host two exhibitions designed to promote awareness of the horrors of genocide, and to educate young people about the dreadful consequences of racial and religious intolerance in recent history.
The twentieth anniversary of the genocide in Srebrenica fell in July 2015, and to mark this occasion, Bradford Council's Diversity and Cohesion Service has developed an exhibition, titled Remembering Srebrenica to tell the story of how this happened, as
part of their SUSOMAD ("Stand Up Speak Out Make a Difference") Peer Education Project.
This exhibition will come to Eternal Light school next month and pupils from Year 9 will be trained as exhibition guides, so that they can show fellow pupils and visiting groups around the displays.
The Anne Frank exhibition will be available in school from Monday 1 February to Friday 5 February .
The Remembering Srebrenica exhibition will be available in school from Monday 22 February to Friday 26 February .
The exhibition is suitable for pupils age 11+ and we recommend groups of no more than 20 pupils.
