Learning with Learners - Code your own game opportunity

Do you want to get to grips with the Computer Science aspects of the Computing Curriculum? If so register to bring up to 5 pupils to the Innovation Centre Bradford on Thursday 4 February to take part in lessons based on the Year 5 Computer Science strand of the Bradford Computing Scheme of Work.

Teachers can bring up to five children to the Innovation Centre and learn alongside them. Children and adults will work through the main points of up to six lessons together. At the end of the morning teachers will leave with lessons plans and resources to deliver the sessions back in school.

Key points covered will be:

  • Analyse existing games and decompose them into their main parts.
  • Plan our own games in pseudo code.
  • Code our own games using sequence, selection, variables, inputs and outputs.

We will also show you how to share your games with a wider audience.  To find out more please visit the short blog post created following the first session - http://theblog.is/lac/2015/12/17/code-coaches-code-your-own-game/

This event is open to a maximum of 4 schools at a cost of £100 per school for the full day.
