Assessment and moderation information

The Standards and Testing Agency held two webinars on 20 November - Key Stage 1 in the morning and Key Stage 2 in the afternoon. These were an hour long each and were very useful. The links to the webinars are on BSO in the Links section of the Assessment area.

New information on moderation has also been announced: -

  • LAs will be given a list of schools to moderate this year which they will be able to top up depending on their own criteria
  • Moderation will take place after teacher assessment data has been submitted - this will be earlier than usual and they are suggesting that moderation takes place in June and early July
  • Moderation will NOT be about professional discussion as it previously was and teachers are not expected to be present (although they suggest we might meet them at the end)
  • Further guidance will be released before the end of this term
  • Some exemplification will be produced in late January.
