Review of the Bradford District School Nursing Service

In April 2013 the responsibility for the commissioning of the School Nursing service transferred to the City of Bradford Metropolitan District Council. The School Nursing service has not been reviewed for many years.

With the transfer of the service, we have the chance to look at the service and make sure it is meeting the needs of the children and young people across the district.

We are therefore asking people to complete a survey, telling us their views about the School Nursing Service.

So far we have heard from 15 primary schools and 3 secondary schools.  We would like to make sure that we have the broadest range of views and experiences recorded and therefore have extended the deadline to the 27th November 2015.

We need to hear back from PRUs and secondary schools.  We know schools are very busy environments, however we want to design a service that meets the needs of the young people it serves.

Please note that the questionnaire only refers to the School Nursing service. It does not relate to staff such as First Aiders employed by the school.

If you or your school would like to contribute please follow the link below.  For further information contact

The survey is now live and can be found here:

Primary School – Year 6 (one class size group)

Secondary School – Year 10 (one class size group)

Teachers – One response on behalf of the school, if possible

The deadline for completion is 27th November 2015.

Thank you to all the schools who have already completed the surveys. I look forward to hearing from other schools.
