All pupils across the district are invited to enter a competition to attract people to live, learn, work and play in the Bradford district.
This is a high-profile national campaign to attract teachers and raise the profile of Bradford and we are excited to put our young people at the centre of the campaign.
Hundreds of new teachers come to Bradford every year and 98% of them stay and make careers here, that is double the national figure. In the 2011 Census Bradford was found to be the youngest English city outside London, where nearly a quarter of the population
was aged under 16 (23.5%). Bradford has great kids who need even more great teachers to come to our wonderful district to “Live, Learn, Work and Play”.
Pupils are invited to design a poster attracting people to come to our district and teach. There will be two categories: secondary and primary aged pupils.
The poster needs to focus on the strapline: “Live, Learn, Work and Play”. We want the children to use persuasive language to highlight in their posters what it is they love about their school and the district and why they are so proud of it. Posters
should be A4 and include the pupil’s name, class name or number and school name. These should be sent to:
School Improvement Admin Team, Bradford Council’s Children’s Services, 4th Floor, Future House, Bolling Road, Bradford, BD4 7EB.
The deadline date for entries is now extended to Friday 23 October 2015.
