Following Sara Rawnsley's briefing at last week's BPIP conference, we are now accepting expressions of interest in our School Direct Salaried programme. Trainees would continue to work in your school, following a one day a week training
programme for one academic year – typically Fridays. Training has been written by schools and is delivered by their outstanding practitioners. Training in a school setting means that trainees can observe teaching, practise
their skills and become confident teachers, ready to be regularly good as NQTs.
The following primary schools have written and deliver our training programme this year:
- Brackenhill
- Bradford Academy
- Chellow Heights
- Copthorne
- Cottingley Village
- Dixons Allerton Academy
- Eldwick
- Heaton
- Horton Grange
- Lapage
- Newhall Park
- Oxenhope CE
- Princeville
- Ryecoft
- Saltaire
- St John's CE
- Shirley Manor
- St Edmund’s Nursery
The Bradford Birth to 19 SCITT is run by St Edmund’s Nursery School in partnership with Exceed in Bradford TSA and other schools in our Teaching School Alliance. For trainees enrolling on our School Direct Salaried Programme, we are able to access £14,000
for each trainee placed in a Bradford school. This is paid to schools by us. The school needs to cover any additional salary payments, including on-costs. They also need to pay £4,000 per trainee to the SCITT. Applicants will need GCSE English and Maths at
grade C or better, a minimum 2:2 degree and at least 3 years of work experience, some of it working with children, by the time they start training.
Please get in touch today - there are limited funds available. We are encouraging early expressions of interest.
