How should we promote respect and cohesion across the district?

Promoting respect and cohesion across the district is the topic for Bradford’s next Public Forum for Education.

Speakers at the event will explore:-

  • The national framework for promoting British values
  • How education establishments promote respect and cohesion within their institutions
  • Ways in which schools and higher education work in partnership with their communities to promote respect and cohesion

The forum takes place on Tuesday, 6 October 2015 from 4.30pm – 6.30pm in the Norcroft Centre at the University of Bradford, Richmond Road, Bradford, BD7 1DP

Coun Susan Hinchcliffe, Executive Member for Education, Skills and Culture, said: "The forum is all about learning from each other and sharing what works. It fits in with our Bradford Education Covenant which advocates promoting and sharing best practice between schools. Anyone with an interest can come along and we really want to hear from young people, parents and community representatives on how we can all work together to promote respect and cohesion in schools.”

Michael Jameson, Strategic Director for Children’s Services, said: "Respect and cohesion are essential parts of school life. We want schools in which all children thrive and succeed and which are welcoming of students from all backgrounds and faiths. This is an important topic for the forum as it is something that everyone can contribute to.”
