The competition has three different aspects and schools or individuals can enter all or one of the parts. All three are designed to encourage young people to understand the significance of our district’s history, in this case the two historical figures after
whom the new buildings are named.
Visual Art
Produce a 2D or 3D piece representing Margaret McMillan or Sir Henry Mitchell, the person or art work representing what they stood for. This can be done in any medium and be of any size.
Literacy
Produce a piece of writing, which when read aloud, lasts no longer than 3 minutes. This can be on the biography, legacy or creative writing inspired by the spirit of one of the two individuals.
Film
Produce a short film on the subject or inspired by one of the historical figures.
All students will need to do some research to enable them to enter any part of the competition.
To aid this, Bradford Libraries will be putting on a display prepared by Bradford Local History Society.
