Schools' Prom 2016

Performance opportunity in Schools' Prom 2016...more

We have booked the above dates at St. George’s Hall for our annual Schools’ Prom concerts.

As well as our own groups, we would like to invite schools to take part in other areas of performance. If you have a band, dance or drama group who may be interested, we would like to hear from you. Performances should last no longer than 10 minutes each.  We are hoping the programme will encompass a wide variety of schools and talent across the district.

Arrangements for all transport and supervision will have to remain the responsibility of each individual school.  The success of the concert is dependent on each participant’s commitment to the rehearsal.  Please check the schedule carefully (the day depends on which concert you are taking part in).  The schedule is:

Rehearsal:        Wednesday 23 March or Thursday 24 March 2016 (depending which concert you’re in) at St. George’s Hall between 3pm – 6pm (a rehearsal running order will be finalised nearer the time)

Concert:           Wednesday 23 March or Thursday 24 March 2015 at St. George’s Hall

                        7.00pm start

Please consider whether or not your school would like to be involved; providing staff to accompany your students remains your responsibility.  We always have a good response to this opportunity, therefore, requests can only be only be considered if they arrive before the closing date and performances will be selected to create a balanced and varied programme.  Please complete the attached form and return it by post, fax or email to the address above no later than Friday 23 October 2015.

The performance will be filmed and photographs will be taken by the Music & Arts Service and the Press, and may be used by the Music and Arts Service for promoting their activities and music making in Bradford generally. It is important that parents of those taking part have been informed of this, unless you have a standing arrangement for such permissions. We are hoping to produce a DVD of each night’s performance which would be available for parents to purchase.

As we are sure you are aware, it is impossible to involve every school in the district in any one year, but we will strive to involve even more young people this year.

We will be in touch as soon as possible after the closing date to let you know if you have been successful or not and to give out further details as necessary.
