School to School Support Fund

The DfE are expected to open a window for School to School Support Fund applications in October 2015. Teaching Schools can apply for this funding to support school improvement.

The School to School Support Fund is available for schools currently judged by Ofsted as 'requires improvement'.

Teaching Schools can apply for this funding in partnership with eligible LA maintained schools.

Previously, funding of between £5,000 and £20,000 was available per application with £10 million available nationally.

If your school is eligible and would like to apply, please contact a Teaching School for more information. Although the window has not officailly opened, this is a good time to consider what schools would wish to apply for and which school they'd like to receive support from (exisiting arrangements may be in place).

Typically, funding is used to purchase the time of staff from a 'good' or 'outstanding' school and to release the staff from 'RI' schools to engage in the support.

The support must focus on developing leadership. Teaching Schools will apply, broker and QA the support as they have to report to DfE on the spend and its impact.
