St Matthew’s CE Primary “very good” at engaging with families

St Matthew’s CE Primary School in Bradford is celebrating after being assessed as “very good” at engaging with families.

In a glowing report, assessors Engaging Families, say:  “St Matthew’s has provided evidence of the range, depth and quality of their work with families. Parents, staff, governors and children are unanimous in their praise, appreciation and enjoyment.”

Engaging Families carried out an assessment of the school’s engagement with families. They were presented with a portfolio of evidence and interviewed pupils, parents, staff and Governors.

The report says St Matthew’s has a “whole school” approach to engaging families. It says this is partly due to staff training on working with families and the “open door” approach which makes parents feel very welcome.

The report’s overall judgement says: “St Matthew’s engagement with families is very good and the school has made significant progress in its work during the last year. There are many successful initiatives that support and help families engage very positively with school.”
