School recruitment for Stand up, Speak out, Make a Difference 2016

SUSOMAD is a peer education project that the Diversity and Cohesion service has run for the last six consecutive years.

Building on the overwhelming success of the project, we have decided to offer the Anne Frank + (YOU!} exhibition again, alongside the SUSOMAD programme for 2016.

We are delighted to be working collaboratively with the Anne Frank Trust UK once again this year to promote the importance of human rights locally, nationally and internationally as a means of reducing racism, bullying, hate crime, community tension and extremism. The project is aimed at encouraging young people to engage in challenging issues and using pupil voice in constructive ways is a fundamental part of this student-led peer education programme.

We are offering this programme to 10 secondary schools as a means of supporting schools in meeting statutory duties in promoting equality, diversity, community cohesion, and in meeting the requirements of the new Prevent duty. Schools previously engaged in the programme have been very pleased in how this has supported the Spiritual, Moral, Social and Cultural development needs of their young people as well as impacting on behavioural issues positively.

Places are limited for this programme and schools will be recruited on a first come first served basis, priority being given to those schools that have not benefited from the programme previously. To get involved, please contact .
