Update: School Building Works Notification

All Schools (including Academies and Trusts) using land or buildings owned by the Council cannot make any alterations or additions to the property without the Council’s written consent.

Consent will not be “unreasonably” withheld and can only be refused if:

  • the proposed work would adversely the Council’s statutory obligations;
  • the proposed work would have an adverse effect on the structural integrity of any part of the property;
  • the proposed work would have an adverse effect on the Council’s reversionary interest in the property.

Please refer to the Education Buildings Page for further information.
