Mangahigh maths competition

Join the White Rose Maths Hub and Mangahigh for a fun free maths competition this summer!

The White Rose Maths Hub, in partnership with Mangahigh, is running a special ‘Boss of the North’ competition for all primary and secondary schools. This is completely free to take part, with no obligation to take up membership of Mangahigh software when the competition finishes – and is a great opportunity to enjoy some maths fun as you prepare for the summer break.

The competition runs from 6 – 15 July and to take part all you need to do is register at This will allow you to register your students to take part and play fun online maths games and try to be crowned ‘The Boss of the North’. Primary and secondary schools from across the north are taking part – you will also have the chance to play battles with similar sized schools. You will be able to see from a leaderboard the top schools, encouraging a real sense of competition in your school community! The competition is structured to ensure fairness regardless of size, with the prizes including a Bebop drone, pizza parties and medals for top scoring students.

We are working with Mangahigh in this special competition to celebrate our first year as a hub, and also to promote how maths can be incredible fun! This activity is an ideal post SAT and GCSE activity, providing a focus for your school during a slower time of year with the added bonus that your children and young people will be accelerating their maths skills.

You can read all about the competition and register at

Please note the competition starts on Monday 6 July 2015 – do not miss out - register now.

Looking forward to your school joining us to compete – good luck!
