Summer School, at Park Lane Centre, Monday 20 to Friday 24 July

We need more young people to join our Summer School, to have fun and learn new skills, including - drumming, dance, creative writing and photography.

Bradford City of Sanctuary and Global Community Outreach are offering a Summer School, from 20-24 July '15.   This is part of their joint venture - Global Sanctuary Education Network (GSEN) - which has been running a Saturday afternoon homework club for asylum seekers and refugees, since last November.

The Summer School is open to all young people, from those who are just leaving primary school and moving into Year 7 upwards.  It will run from Monday to Friday, from 10-00am to 3-00pm, at the Park Lane Centre, Park Lane, Bradford BD5 0LN.  Lunch will be provided and we can help with travel costs, if needed.

The Summer School leaders are volunteers who have been working with GSEN all year.  On Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday afternoons we will have additional volunteer support from young people who are part of the Announce project, run by the Roman Catholic Diocese of Leeds.

Apart from learning new skills and having some fun, one of the main aims of the Summer School is giving young people the opportunity to engage with others, from a wide variety of backgrounds.
