Become a Specialist Leader of Education (SLE) with Exceed in Bradford TSA

Join us for an insight into the role of Specialist Leaders of Education (SLE) as Exceed in Bradford Teaching School Alliance, based at Copthorne Primary School, launches a recruitment campaign with a view to accrediting new system leaders via the NCTL.

Locally and nationally school improvement is increasingly being led by school senior leaders. Headteachers are best placed to identify their school’s strengths and areas for development and what actions need to be taken to address the school’s priority areas. This may be done through internal processes and/or drawing upon school leaders and staff from local schools to help build capacity.

Specialist Leaders of Education (SLE) as school leaders below the headteacher who can provide support to other schools linked to an area of their expertise. This support can come through a wide range of mechanisms, such as leading a network meeting, supporting a subject leader to develop curriculum planning, undertaking action-research in their own school to share with others, and engaging in large scale research to explore the impact of new initiative and strategies. The role is also excellent professional development and enables the privilege of visiting and working with other teachers and schools.

Exceed in Bradford TSA is seeking applications from eligible school leaders with a view to accrediting them as SLEs and facilitating a training programme for them. If successful, the Teaching School will work with you and your headteacher to arrange your SLE deployments in the future. This may bring new funding and opportunties into your school.
