Children's Bookshow, a national tour of some of the best writers and illustrators of children's literature which takes place each autumn.
We work across the country in theatres ranging from the De La Warr Pavilion to the People's Theatre in Newcastle.
Past authors have included Quentin Blake, Michael Rosen and Judith Kerr to name just a few.
This year on Tuesday 6 October we shall be bringing the award-winning picture book writer and illustrator, Jessica Souhami to the King’s Hall, Ilkley. Jessica will give a theatre performance followed by four schools workshops .
We give these workshops free to schools and in addition, give every child participating in a workshop a free copy of one of Jessica’s books to take home and keep.
The Children's Bookshow, a not for profit organisation in the process of becoming a charity, is funded by Arts Council England, private trusts, publishers and various organisations which share our belief that the best way to improve literacy is to give children
books which will inspire them with the joy of reading and to give them access to the best authors and illustrators from around the world.
