Locally and nationally school improvement is increasingly being led by school senior leaders. Headteachers are best placed to identify their school’s strengths and areas for development and what actions need to be taken to address the school’s priority areas.
This may be done through internal processes and/or drawing upon school leaders and staff from local schools to help build capacity.

a subject leader to develop curriculum planning, undertaking action-research in their own school to share with others, and engaging in large scale research to explore the impact of new initiative and strategies. The role is also excellent professional development
