Shipley College are proud to take the lead on the ‘Youth Takeover Day’ of Bradford Urban Festival.
The Centre of Excellence for Business (CofE4B) at Shipley College is working with Bradford Council’s Cultural Services Team to develop the district’s first ‘’Y’ (Youth) Culture Takeover Day, which will take place on Friday 10 July in City Park as part of
Bradford’s Urban Festival.
The organisers of the event want to hear from any schools and colleges who would like to be involved.
So far the skills and talent to be showcased include dance, music, drama, circus skills, martial arts, artwork and snake boarding. The College’s music technology students have already been auditioning for people to take part, as have ‘Crimson Dawn’, a group
from Belle Vue Girls School.
In addition to the entertainment, there will be lots of opportunities for young people to try a new activity to develop their skills and connect with organisations and individuals who share the same interests.
There are also plans to have a significant STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths) presence, with young people from schools, colleges and the Bradford University will be demonstrating the technology they use.
We are holding some auditions in the next few weeks and we would like to hear from any schools or colleges in the Bradford district who would like to take part.
