Gardening course to raise money for Manorlands

A one day course is being provided for people wanting to learn more about gardening in schools and the local community.

Well known gardener, Steve Thorpe, who is gardener at many schools in the district is raising money for Manorlands Sue Ryer Home.  All proceeds from these courses will be donated to Manorlands.  The cost of the course per person is £100.

The course will be held as follows:

Date:      Friday 8 May 2015

Time:     9.00 - 3.30pm with half hour lunch

Venue:  Haworth Primary School

Tea, coffee and biscuits will be provided during the breaks.  

The course will cover:

  • Powerpoint presentation on starting and developing a growing project
  • Taking it out into the local community and using produce grown as part of school meals
  • Hints and tips that  Steve has gathered while setting up and developing award winning school gardening projects
  • Hands on gardening themed activities throughout the day

The course will allow Steve to share his many years' experience with delegates which will help to inspire schools and their pupils.
