‘Lines and Loops’ - an eclectic mix of music for violin and electric violin.

Join renowned violinist Steve Bingham on a unique exploration of music for violin, electric violin and live looping. Steve explores a wide range of music for violin, from the extraordinary beauty of Bach’s solo works, through composers such as Telemann, Pachelbel, Bartók, Astor Piazzolla, Steve Reich, Philip Glass and Michael Nyman, to newly commissioned works, and arrangements of pieces by the likes of Coldplay, Daft Punk, Mike Oldfield and The Beatles!

Is this workshop for me?
This is for players of bowed string instruments (violin, viola, cello, double bass) from around Grade 4 standard. Open to children and adults.

Steve will work with students exploring and explaining the world of the electric violin, digital looping and effects etc as well as more traditional improvisation.

Steve will then give a concert – ‘Lines and Loops’ – at 6.30pm to which all the family and friends are invited. (£10 adults, £5 under 19’s, workshop participants free).

What do I need to bring?
 Your instrument and bow (plus spike holder if you play cello or bass)
 A small amount of money for tuck shop if you wish
 A packed tea if staying between the workshop and concert – we may be able to play some string orchestra music.
