BPIP Teaching and Learning Programme - Talk for Reading

Please find below details for the BPIP Teaching and Learning Programme ‘Talk for Reading’ training designed and led by Carol Satterthwaite (Language for Learning).

This course will explore powerful but simple strategies for improving levels of comprehension, how to use Booktalk to improve classroom dialogue and techniques on how to introduce core strategies across school.

Aims of the programme

  • To develop an understanding of how to improve classroom talk so that it impacts on reading development
  • To explore approaches for developing comprehension and reading skills including Booktalk

Number of days:      1 day (2 x half days)

Target Audience:     Literacy Subject Managers
