Self Harm in Schools: Launch of Protocol Policy -Self Harm in Schools

The Mental Health in Schools Strategy Group is launching a protocol policy for addressing and managing self harm in school via drop in sessions:

These will be held as follows:


Date:   Tuesday 3 and Wednesday 4 February 2015

Time:    3.30-5pm
Venue:  Keighley Town Hall
No need to book for any of the sessions. Regret no refreshments.
At these sessions Dr Fameeda Ansari, clinical psychpologist, CAMHS and Dr Philippa Grace, Educational Psychologist (Specialist Senior Mental Health)  will:
  • introduce the work of the Mental Health in Schools Strategy Group and Mental Health Matters initiaitive.
  • present the protocol policy to address self harm in Bradford Schools, give information about useful references and when and how to make onward referrals give a brief CPD overview of self harm.
  • introduce a speedy recording framework, to support school management of self harm, and provide relevant data for commissioning services in Bradford.

Information will be launched to secondary schools via the Mental Health in Schools Strategy Group representative from your Behaviour and Attendance Collaborative (BAC) and to primary schools via BSO and the primary heads forum.
