Recent research indicates that up to one in 10 children have mental health difficulties.  These can impact in school, affecting children's learning, behaviour and overall progress.


This course will give an overview of mental health issues for children and young people and explore practical strategies that can be implemented by existing school staff to promote good mental health.


Intended outcomes for participants:

By the end of the course you will have:


Increased your understanding of what mental health is and how it can impact on children's progress;


Increased your knowledge of a range of strategies to promote good mental health at an individual, group and whole school level;


Developed a structure to develop this aspect of provision in your school or setting.
