FFT Aspire data release update

FFT have updated FFT Aspire with the latest KS4 data. Schools now have access to interactive KS4 summary dashboards providing results and analyses from 2011 to 2014. FFT Aspire is also due to receive additional functionality in the next release.

FFT Aspire now includes KS1 and KS2 Governor and Interactive Dashboards, KS4 self-evaluation dashboards and KS4 Governor Dashboards including the KS4 data that was released yesterday.

PDF versions of the 2014 Governor dashboards can be downloaded directly from Aspire via the Self Evaluation drop down menu.

Because of changes to performance measures this year, FFT have produced up to three variants for some indicators (e.g. 5+ A*-C including English and Maths).  These include:

  • New & First entry – New 2014 ‘Wolf’ qualifications using First Entry (produced for 2014 results only)
  • New & Best entry – New 2014 ‘Wolf’ qualifications using Best Entry (produced for all years)
  • Old & Best entry – 2013 GCSE and equivalent qualifications using Best Entry (produced for all years)

Whilst care must be taken when comparing 2014 results to previous years, the calculation of multiple indicator variants should make it easier to assess the impact of new measures on school performance and to evaluate progress and improvement.

Further release in December

There will be a further release in December with the new functionality for schools to upload and import new pupils for target setting (i.e. Year 7) and also to export FFT benchmark estimates and the targets set by teachers for use in other data systems.  This release is scheduled for the week beginning 15th December 2014.

Updated information about the release of FFT Aspire is available here, including user guides, copies of the slides from the recent FFT Aspire training session held at Future House and the latest FFT Aspire release schedule.
