FOI request from Bath University Innovation Centre

Bath University Innovation Centre are requesting information on ICT and maths software under the Freedom of Information Act and your school may have received such a request.

It would appear that many schools across Bradford District have received an email from Bath University Innovation Centre requesting information on ICT and maths software under the Freedom of Information Act and your school may have received such a request.

Schools must respond to a FOI request (unless exceptionally an exemption applies) within 20 working (school) days.  We suggest you just acknowledge the request for now, unless you can respond in full straight away.  The information must be provided free of charge.

There do not appear to be any exemptions schools can rely on in this particular case. They are not asking schools to disclose any personal data and therefore on the face of it there does not appear to be any breach of data protection in disclosing the information requested.

However, if you do have specific concerns with disclosing any of the information please contact Dilys Coop in Legal Services (01274 432233) who can provide you with any further advice and assistance.

When you are providing the information the following paragraph should be included at the end of your response:-

If you are not satisfied with this reply you may ask for a review of the decision by contacting the Chair of Governors, c/o …….insert address of school

If you are still not satisfied with this response then you have the right of appeal to the Information Commissioner who can be contacted at:
