Dear [teacher],

This June and July, The Anne Frank Trust UK will be bringing its acclaimed exhibition Anne Frank &Family to Keighley Library. We would like to invite your pupils to visit the exhibition and take part in a workshop designed to build empathy with victims of prejudice and empower young people to speak up for an equal and just society.

Created in 2003 by the Anne Frank House In Amsterdam, Anne Frank & Family gives visitors an insight into the lives of just one of the families destroyed by the Holocaust. Through Otto Frank’s photo album we see Anne’s early, ordinary and happy life - in sharp contrast to the tumultuous events happening around her.

Also on display will be a brand new exhibition,Anne Frank + Us, created by young people from Keighley.

Seating for 5

As well as taking a tour of both exhibitions, your pupils will take part in a workshop led by Anne Frank Trust staff, with both elements of the visit providing rich inspiration for learning in History, Religious Studies, English and SMSC.  They will use Anne’s writing to explore themes of identity and prejudice, and consider how they can use their voice to make positive changes in their community.

Schools are also welcome to visit the exhibition on a self-led basis, and all groups will be offered a free resource pack with activities to accompany the exhibition.

Thanks to funding from the National Lottery Community Fund, we are able to offer visits and workshops free of charge.  Each slot is for a class of up to 30 pupils - if your class is larger than this, please let us know in advance. Please book your slot via Eventbrite here:

https://keighleyannefrank.eventbrite.co.uk

The visit and workshop will last approximately two hours and slots are available for either 'Morning' (from 10am to 12 noon) or 'Afternoon' (from 12.30 to 2.30pm). Please email if there are any problems with these times, as they can be adjusted to suit the school day if required.

If you have any questions, please do get in touch.

Best wishes,
