Dear Parents, Carers and members of the community,

Consultation about a proposal to open Nursery provision at Woodlands CE Primary School.

We propose to extend the age range for the school from 4-11 years to 3-11 years and to open a Nursery would have 13 morning and 13 afternoon places.  The proposal has been endorsed by the Governors and the Trustees of BDAT.

These could be allocated in a flexible way. It will be run as part of our school, situated in the school building, alongside other classes and running for regular school hours. The children would be able to start in the term after they are three years old. This proposal will ensure a consistent approach to learning for our youngest children and enable us to meet the needs of our local community in relation to early years education.

We are consulting on this proposal for four weeks, starting today and ending on Monday 15 April 2019. During the four weeks we are holding two consultation meetings. These are on Tuesday 2nd April at 9.00am in the school hall and this will be repeated at 3.15pm – 5.30pm that evening. These meetings are to provide an opportunity for you to ask any questions you might have.

We believe that we can offer Nursery provision that is of high quality and that will give children a positive start to their school life. We are proposing to open our Nursery in September 2019.

This letter will also be circulated to local homes, local Pre-school Nurseries, local schools, the Local Authority, the School Nursing team and our local doctors’ surgery.

Should you have any comments regarding the consultation, we would be pleased to receive them by email on office@woodlands.bradford.sch.uk

Yours sincerely

Karen Webster
Headteacher
