GCSE Maths: Teaching foundation to less able learners (Spring 19 course)

Monday 1st April, 2019

Venue: Banqueting Suite, City Hall, Bradford, BD1 1UH

Timings: Refreshments from 9.45am for a 10.15am start until 3.15pm (includes lunch)

Aims:

Mathematics faculty leaders/subject heads, teachers with responsibility for key Stage 4 and new and non-specialist maths teachers that will be delivering the GCSE foundation tier.

 

Objectives:

This course will provide teaching and learning ideas that will support students to succeed at GCSE Foundation tier. Strategies that make an impact, you will receive a host of resources to really make an impact in your classroom.

 

Summary:

- consider a range of pedagogical approaches that will enhance the mathematical experience and achievement of learners;

- reflect on strategies to enhance questioning in the classroom;

- explore strategies to develop problem solving.
