Accelerate is a brand-new professional development programme tailor-made for those in the first five years of their teaching career. The programme aims to provide teachers with the tools and support they need to fast-track their teaching skills.

The programme is designed to help improve pupil attainment and keep talented teachers within the profession and is aligned with the new Government Recruitment and Retention Strategy, and particularly The Early Career Framework.  Fully-funded by the Department for Education, Accelerate is free for teachers in eligible schools; those that are Ofsted graded 3 or 4 and/or are in a DfE-identified ‘opportunity’ or ‘priority’ area – THEREFORE ALL BRADFORD SCHOOLS ARE ELIGIBLE!

Accelerate is being led by Education Development Trust in partnership with The Chartered College of Teaching. The programme delivers evidence-informed training, using a blended learning approach, designed to provide maximum flexibility and minimise time away from the classroom.  The training incorporates a residential training event, local workshops, expert instructional coaching, in-school mentoring and online training materials, tailored to different subject areas and phases.

The four-term training begins in the spring term 2019. Registration is currently underway, and it is advisable to apply as soon as possible as spaces are limited and will be allocated on first come first served basis after eligibility.  Find out more and register at accelerate-teaching.co.uk
